Girls XC advances to state

Colin Chambers '20, Editor in Chief

This previous Saturday, the girls cross country qualified for state. The team placed second to a strong Zionsville team allowing them to advance to state with ease. This marks the second year in a row for the girls team to qualify state, and the braves hope to better their 4th place finish from last year. Strong performances on Saturday included Zoe Simmons ‘20 placing 3rd with a time of 18:10 and Madeline Keller ‘22 with a time of 18:18.

On the boys side, both Jack Kovach ‘20 and Krishna Thirunavukkarasu ‘22 qualified for state as individuals. Jack Kovach ran 15:59 and Krishna Thirunavukkarasu ran 16:03. Logan Cole ‘21 also had a strong performance and ran 17:15 but unfortunately did not qualify for state.

Both the girls team and the boys individuals will run at the state meet in Terre Haute on October 27th. Hopefully, all runners can have their best performances of the season this coming Saturday.
