Prayer Service for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit

August 15th 2019, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory school held its first all school prayer service for the beginning of the school year. The service began with the annual procession of new incoming freshman and the presenting of the class flags.  After welcoming remarks from Peggy Poole ‘87, we started our prayer service. As scriptures were read and Fr. Bill offered his remarks, the whole gym was silent. At the end of the service, as tradition, Max Mellrose ‘20, offered the student reflection.  As he spoke, the sense of family that we talked about all through the prayer service lived in the sense of community, the sense of brother and sister hood, and the sense of a deeper connection with each other and the Holy Spirit.
