Due to the worldwide spread of the coronavirus, Italy has put emergency measures in place to try and stop the spread of the virus; including travel restrictions and a ban on public gatherings throughout the entire country. The death toll in Italy has raised from 366 to 463 just within the past week, making Italy the second worst-hit country following China. On Monday, March 9th Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte of Italy ordered citizens to stay home and seek permission to travel for only the essentials. The number of confirmed cases has increased by 24% since Sunday, and all 20 Italian regions have had at least one case confirmed.
